About Us

Welcome! We are a small NPIP certified breeder of silkie chickens, Showgirl (naked neck) chickens and Satin / satin frizzle chickens. Our story started about 5 years ago when we brought home our very first silkie named Muppet. We only had your  average egg laying chickens from TSC and we didn’t realize how friendly a chicken could be until we got Muppet. He would bounce across the yard to come see us and escort us all over the property when we were outside. He loved to be held and we do believe he loved us as much as we loved him. We quickly decided that we needed more silkies and started ordering hatching eggs from all over the country to start the foundation lines for the flock we now have today.  While we focus on SOP type, we really find our joy in creating new rare colored silkies. There is just something about seeing all the fun colors bounce across our yard to come greet us that brings us so much joy! Hatching silkie eggs is so fun for our kids also, they get so excited when a new colors hatches! “MOOOOM!!! YOU HAVE TO COME LOOK AT THIS CHICK!!!!” Will echo through our house on hatching days, it fills my heart with so much love seeing them so excited. We truly love our birds and enjoy them more than we thought possible. It’s funny because my husband is the one who wanted chickens and it took him about two years to get me on board. I just didn’t realize how friendly certain breeds could be and I am so thankful for his persistence!  Our silkies are incredibly friendly, kid approved and most of all gorgeous! We take our head poofs (crests) very seriously around here and we only allow friendly roosters into our breeding program to pass on those amazing temperaments! Our satin silkies, frizzled silkies and showgirl silkies are all later generation silkies, not barn yard mixes. We maintain our NPIP certification and practice strict bio security, so as much as we’d love to have you out for a visit to view our breeding flocks,   we do not allow visitors to protect the health of our flock and our buyer’s flocks. All pickup orders take place at the very end of our driveway and you will be asked to stay in your vehicle with your pet carrier ready. We are happy to bring out a variety of chicks or juveniles for you to see and choose from in person if we have them available, just contact us to schedule a time to come by.
